Real 925 sterling silver, and why it matters
Every Gaia piece is made from solid 925 sterling silver, hallmarked and hypoallergenic. Here is what that means for how the jewellery looks, wears and lasts, and what you can tell your customers.
The basics
What is 925 sterling silver
Pure silver is soft, so on its own it bends and marks easily. Sterling silver mixes 92.5 per cent pure silver with 7.5 per cent other metals, usually copper, to give it strength while keeping that bright, warm shine. That ratio is where the "925" hallmark comes from.
It is the standard for fine everyday jewellery: durable enough for daily wear, precious enough to be treasured. Because it is solid metal rather than a thin plating over a cheaper base, it will not flake or wear away, which helps you build trust and repeat custom.

Our standards
How we hold quality
Sterling silver vs plated
Plated jewellery is a thin silver layer over cheaper metal that rubs away over time. Our pieces are solid 925 throughout, a point you can share with confidence when customers ask.
Stone settings
Every stone is hand set and checked, with prongs and channels finished so nothing snags or works loose. Sparkle that stays put through everyday wear.
Finishes
From high-polish to brushed and rhodium-plated whites, our finishes are applied evenly and buffed by hand for a smooth feel with no rough edges, consistent from one order to the next.
